DOJ Announces Massive Arrest as Dems Protest Trump’s Deportations

President Donald J. Trump’s tough immigration policies are already yielding powerful results. Despite constant protests from open-border radicals and sanctuary politicians, a new analysis reveals that over 1 million illegal immigrants have left the country in just five months — many of them by choice.

According to the New York Post Editorial Board, President Trump’s enforcement strategy is quietly dismantling the illegal population in America, and the pace of deportations is surging — even without a significant boost to ICE’s operational resources.

"In just five months, the US illegal-immigrant population has dropped an estimated 1 million — putting Team Trump on course to foster more than 2 million deportations this year even without (so far) adding to ICE resources,” the Post wrote Friday.

The Post attributed the shift not just to direct arrests and deportations of violent offenders — such as child molesters and murderers — but also to a dramatic rise in self-deportations, as illegals realize their chances of hiding out in Biden-era sanctuary cities are dwindling under Trump’s second-term policies.

"It’s partly the high-profile arrests and expulsions of child molesters and murderers, of course, but also an enormous number of ‘self-deportations’ as illegal migrants realize their odds of staying are dropping fast,” the op-ed added.

With mass deterrence working better than expected, Trump has even signaled a pause on wide-scale workplace raids to focus instead on high-impact targets.

"The president absolutely has a duty to make good on his campaign vows, but he’s getting it done already: With so much else on his plate now, best not mess with success,” the board concluded.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Justice Department are delivering justice to the most dangerous foreign criminals still on U.S. soil.

In a Friday statement, the DOJ announced the sentencing of Jaime Gonzalez-Duran, a high-ranking member of the Los Zetas cartel and now-convicted narco-terrorist, to 35 years in federal prison. The court also ordered him to forfeit a staggering $792 million in cartel profits.

The case is part of President Trump’s Operation Take Back America, a sweeping initiative to dismantle cartels, purge violent criminals, and restore law and order.

Once a founding member of Los Zetas — a brutal paramilitary cartel composed of ex-Mexican military officers — Gonzalez-Duran (a.k.a. “Hummer”) played a central role in trafficking over 450 kilograms of cocaine and 90,000 kilograms of marijuana into American communities. He was also responsible for violence, weapons smuggling, and bribing Mexican authorities to maintain cartel control over key border regions.

In 2008, Mexican authorities seized a warehouse tied to Gonzalez-Duran in Reynosa, uncovering 540 rifles, 165 grenades, 500,000 rounds of ammunition, and 14 sticks of TNT — all part of the cartel’s war chest to dominate the drug trade.

Wiretaps from 2007 also caught Gonzalez-Duran coordinating the movement of $1.5 million in cash from McAllen, Texas, to Mexico.

"Jaime Gonzalez-Duran employed violence and intimidation tactics to maintain Los Zetas’ reign over key drug trafficking routes, especially on the U.S.-Mexico border," said DOJ Criminal Division head Matthew R. Galeotti. “Today’s sentence is a forceful reminder to Mexican terrorist organizations that the Department of Justice is committed to bringing to justice those who threaten the well-being and safety of the American people for their own personal gain.”

In February, Gonzalez-Duran pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute cocaine and marijuana intended for illegal importation into the United States.

His case highlights the coordinated force behind Operation Take Back America, which combines the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhoods to deliver maximum-impact results.

While Democrats continue to call for open borders, amnesty, and the abolition of ICE, President Trump is doing exactly what he promised: defending America, protecting families, and restoring the rule of law.
