Donald Trump Jr. Rips Trump ‘Traitor’ After What He Caught Him Doing

Following an investigation into leaks involving highly classified military information, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth framed recent dismissals within the Pentagon as fallout from the probe. However, this portrayal was called into question by a former official, labeled a “traitor” by Donald Trump Jr., who argued the story doesn’t add up.

John Ullyot, who has held several positions under former President Donald Trump since 2016 and recently stepped down as Pentagon spokesperson, penned a Politico op-ed that countered Hegseth’s explanation. According to Ullyot, the dismissals were merely a smokescreen for the broader “disarray” engulfing the Department of Defense.

Ullyot alleged that “Hegseth’s team has developed a habit of spreading flat-out, easily debunked falsehoods anonymously about their colleagues on their way out the door,” a tactic he says has become all too common.

Trump Jr., referencing the op-ed which was also shared on X by senior Politico editor Alex Burns, didn’t hold back in his response. “This guy is not America First. I’ve been hearing for years that he works his ass off to subvert my father’s agenda. That ends today. He’s officially exiled from our movement,” the former president’s son declared Monday morning.

The situation risks igniting another media firestorm under Hegseth’s leadership. Over the weekend, two mainstream media reports alleged he had shared additional sensitive material in group chats that included his wife, brother, and attorney. The swift reaction from Trump Jr. underscores how seriously the administration is treating the resurgence of Pentagon leak concerns.

Since the emergence of the so-called “Signalgate,” the Defense Department has been plagued by internal discord and leaks, including details of an alleged plan to brief Elon Musk on America’s theoretical response to a Chinese military strike.

In response to the allegations, Hegseth dismissed senior advisor Dan Caldwell and former chief of staff Joe Kasper, accusing them of “unauthorized disclosures” to the press. Politico sources also indicated that Darin Selnick, the Pentagon’s deputy chief of staff, was suspended and escorted out of the premises as part of the inquiry.

Still, Ullyot pointed out inconsistencies in the investigation’s conduct. He claimed that although there were initial threats to require polygraph tests, “not one of the three has been given a lie detector test.” He also said that “at least one of them has told former colleagues that investigators advised him he was about to be cleared officially of any wrongdoing.”

Despite his criticisms, Ullyot credited Hegseth’s team for shining a light on “woke” initiatives implemented under the Biden-Harris administration—such as mandatory hiring and training practices centered around identity politics and a noted decline in physical readiness standards.

With mounting tensions both within the Pentagon and from outside observers, the feud between Hegseth and his former allies appears far from over.

“Given his record of holding prior Cabinet leaders accountable, many in the secretary’s own inner circle will applaud quietly if Trump chooses to do the same in short order at the top of the Defense Department,” Ullyot concluded.
