Fetterman Breaks With Fellow Dems Over L.A. Riots Following ICE Arrests

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., has once again bucked the radical wing of his party—this time calling out the pro-illegal immigration riots that have paralyzed Los Angeles for days and placed federal law enforcement officers in harm’s way.

While Democrats across the country, led by California Governor Gavin Newsom, seek to exploit the riots to smear President Donald J. Trump’s immigration crackdown, Fetterman isn’t playing along.

Taking to X on Monday, Fetterman posted several images of burning cars, looted stores, and injured police officers—a snapshot of what he called “true chaos” in Los Angeles.

“I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that,” Fetterman posted. “This is anarchy and true chaos. My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.”

His post is a rare moment of clarity from a Democrat—and one that directly undermines the narrative from the Biden-era holdovers and far-left activists who continue to demand amnesty while demonizing the brave men and women of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a scathing rebuke of California Democrats who are refusing to support law enforcement during this unprecedented breakdown in order.

Appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Bondi said plainly, “Los Angeles looks like a Third World country.”

“What we’re going to do is enforce the law, regardless of what they do,” Bondi stated. “Look at it out there—it looks like a Third World country, and it’s not. It’s the United States of America. We are not standing for it.”

Bondi also announced that the Department of Justice would move forward with federal prosecutions against rioters who attack law enforcement, whether federal or local. Already, nine individuals face federal charges, with more arrests expected in the coming days for assaulting officers and looting.

“If California won’t protect their law enforcement, we will,” Bondi added. “President Trump is not going to allow anarchists to control American streets.”

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, a Republican gubernatorial contender, echoed the attorney general’s comments and blasted Governor Newsom for failing to uphold the rule of law.

“These agitators aren’t protesting. They’re trying to violently influence politics through chaos,” Bianco said. “That is everything the Constitution stands against.”

Bianco emphasized that a civilized society depends on law and order and warned that continued tolerance of violence by progressive politicians “will facilitate the downfall of our civilized society.”

Under President Trump’s leadership, the National Guard and U.S. Marines have now been deployed to Los Angeles to restore order, protect federal agents, and ensure that immigration enforcement continues despite the coordinated obstruction from California Democrats.

Senator Fetterman’s blunt condemnation of his own party may be rare—but it reflects what many Americans already know: you cannot have a nation without borders, and you cannot have justice without law and order.
