GOP Lawmaker Urges Bondi To Probe Socialist NYC Mayoral Candidate

A bombshell denaturalization request has rocked the New York City mayoral race, as Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) on Thursday formally urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to initiate proceedings to strip Democrat nominee Zohran Mamdani of his U.S. citizenship.

Ogles’ request cites serious national security concerns stemming from Mamdani’s past statements and affiliations — including public expressions of support for individuals convicted of terrorism-related offenses — made before his naturalization as a U.S. citizen.

“According to public reports, including a June 21, 2025 New York Post article, Mr. Mamdani expressed open solidarity with individuals convicted of terrorism-related offenses prior to becoming a U.S. citizen,” Ogles wrote in his referral to the DOJ.

The Tennessee congressman points to Mamdani’s past pro-Palestinian rap lyrics and political affiliations as cause for serious legal review.

“The naturalization process depends on the good-faith disclosure of any affiliation with, or support for, groups that threaten U.S. national security,” Ogles continued. “If Mr. Mamdani concealed relevant associations, that concealment may constitute a material misrepresentation sufficient to support denaturalization under federal law.”

The request has ignited renewed scrutiny on Mamdani, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist who shocked the political world by defeating disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary. His fringe platform and radical anti-Israel stance have already drawn intense backlash.

But Mamdani isn’t the only Democrat under federal fire this week.

In Massachusetts, State Rep. Christopher Flanagan (D) was arrested by federal authorities and charged with wire fraud and falsifying records — part of a scheme prosecutors allege involved embezzling tens of thousands of dollars to pay personal bills and even psychic services.

According to CBS News and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston, Flanagan funneled $36,000 from the Cape Cod Home Builders Association — where he served as executive director — to fund luxury spending and his own campaign, all while juggling over $100,000 in state salary and serious personal debt.

“Today’s charges… reveal an appalling breach of public trust,” said U.S. Attorney Leah Foley. “No one is entitled to power by way of fraud, and the people of Massachusetts deserve better.”

The charges include a scheme so brazen that Flanagan allegedly created fake personas to mislead investigators and conceal his theft — a tactic that federal agents called “deplorable.”

“Flanagan’s egregious betrayal… and his deplorable actions of lining his own pockets for personal or political reasons are unacceptable,” said Ketty Larco-Ward of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

These twin scandals — one involving national security misrepresentation and the other financial corruption — are just the latest examples of the rot within the modern Democratic Party, where radicals like Mamdani are elevated and corrupt figures like Flanagan are allowed to operate unchecked.

Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Bondi, conservatives are sending a clear message: fraud, extremism, and corruption will no longer be tolerated — whether in the halls of Congress or in the mayor’s office.
