Gutfeld on Trump: “We don’t deserve him”
Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld sat down with Charlie Kirk at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa over the weekend, where he highlighted the striking contrast between the joy of Trump supporters and the grim seriousness of the Left.
The conversation turned to President Donald J. Trump’s recent viral remarks on Truth Social about failed comedian Rosie O’Donnell. On Saturday, Trump blasted O’Donnell as a “Threat to Humanity” and said he was giving “serious consideration” to revoking her U.S. citizenship.
Trump wrote, “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

“With when fans of Obama talk about Obama, they talk about him in solemn terms, in serious terms. That’s so true. When people who like Trump talk about him, they’re laughing,” Gutfeld said.
He continued, “I stole this line from Michael Mallis. Whenever Trump says something, I go, ‘We don’t deserve him.’”
For Gutfeld, Trump’s humor and irreverence are part of what makes defending him such a rewarding experience: “No matter what he does, you can’t help but smile. When you’re defending him, it’s fun. When you’re not defending him, it’s even fun…..it’s like…”
Pointing to Trump’s post about Rosie O’Donnell, Gutfeld explained why the president’s jabs send the Left into fits.
“For example, he posted on Truth Social about stripping Rosie… What’s her name again? Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship, which is Impossible. We know it’s impossible. We know it’s hilarious, but it makes news,” Gutfeld said.

Gutfeld’s comments capture why Trump’s movement is powered not just by policy, but by the laughter and joy he inspires among his base — even as his critics remain perpetually outraged.
