Hamas Pens Letter to Trump, Makes Desperate Plea for a Deal: Report

Reports indicate that Hamas is preparing to send a letter to President Donald J. Trump, seeking American-brokered guarantees for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza.

According to Fox News, citing unnamed sources, Hamas is requesting a 60-day truce in exchange for releasing half of the hostages kidnapped during the brutal October 7, 2023, terrorist massacre of Israeli civilians.

President Trump has remained firm, repeatedly insisting that all hostages must be released immediately. Earlier this month, he issued what he called his “last warning” to Hamas, underscoring that the United States would not tolerate further gamesmanship with innocent lives.

The Jerusalem Post noted that while the letter has not yet been formally delivered, Hamas intends for the ceasefire to remain in place so long as talks toward a “permanent end” to the Gaza war continue.

At the same time, European powers are maneuvering to undercut Israel’s sovereignty. France is drafting a proposal for what it calls an “International Stabilization Mission” — essentially a foreign intervention to replace Israeli Defense Forces inside Gaza and attempt to disarm Hamas. The Times of Israel reported that the plan envisions turning Gaza over to the Palestinian Authority, with the long-term goal of a so-called “two-state solution.”

The draft proposal, backed by France, Great Britain, Canada, and Australia, outlines “a pragmatic pathway” for a U.N.-mandated, regionally-led stabilization mission in Palestine. Participating countries would include Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar.

Meanwhile, Arab and Muslim leaders are pressing for direct talks with Trump in New York to push their agenda, according to the Guardian.

Despite global pressure, the United States under President Trump continues to reject international recognition of Palestinian statehood — standing firmly alongside Israel.

Speaking on the matter, Trump told the Times of Israel, “Hopefully, we’ll get something done.” He added, “We’re studying Gaza and dealing with Gaza very strongly. That’s a real mess.”

With Hamas demanding concessions, Europe angling to sideline Israel, and Arab states lobbying for U.S. approval, the stakes for Trump’s leadership on the world stage could not be higher.
