Despite media buzz over the recent tension between President Donald J. Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk, the White House made clear this week that its focus remains firmly on delivering real results for the American people — particularly through the president’s landmark legislative package, the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”

During a Thursday night segment on Hannity, Fox News host Sean Hannity sat down with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to discuss the reported falling-out between Trump and Musk, which made headlines after Musk expressed “disappointment” in the president’s sweeping reform agenda. The situation escalated earlier in the day when Trump, speaking from the Oval Office, invoked Jeffrey Epstein's name in response to Musk’s remarks — a sharp signal that personal grievances may be boiling over.

Hannity opened the interview by sharing a lighthearted anecdote from his youth, likening the spat between Trump and Musk to the kind of temporary scuffles he had with friends on the hockey rink.

“I grew up playing hockey… we didn’t fight, then we weren’t playing,” Hannity joked. “But we’d fight, and then we’d become friends again. You’re dealing with two very powerful men… It got personal very quick. But really what we’re dealing with here… is just a major policy difference.”

Press Secretary Leavitt, however, brushed past the drama to highlight what truly matters to the administration: passing the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”

“Tonight, the president’s focus and the focus of the entire White House remains on passing the One Big, Beautiful Bill,” said Leavitt. “Just days ago, the president graciously hosted Elon Musk in the Oval Office and Elon thanked the president for his incredible leadership to cut waste, fraud and abuse in our government — which this One Big, Beautiful Bill does.”

Leavitt acknowledged Musk’s right to speak for his companies but made clear that President Trump’s duty is to fight for the American people — and that’s exactly what this bill represents.

Leavitt laid out the bill’s defining features, calling it “the most historic piece of legislation that has moved through Capitol Hill in modern day history.”

Key provisions of the bill include:

• An extension of the 2017 Trump tax cuts

• No tax on overtime for law enforcement professionals
• Elimination of the Social Security tax for seniors

In a show of growing momentum, the Fraternal Order of Police formally endorsed the legislation at the White House, praising its overtime tax protections for officers who go above and beyond to keep Americans safe.

“President Trump is practical and realistic,” said Leavitt. “But this bill is a huge, monumental step in the right direction.”

In addition to economic reforms, the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” prioritizes national security and immigration enforcement — key issues that propelled Trump back into the White House for his historic second term.

According to Leavitt, the legislation includes:

• Hiring boosts for ICE and Border Patrol
• Support for President Trump’s mass deportation effort
• Infrastructure upgrades for national defense, including funding for the Golden Dome — one of President Trump’s boldest campaign promises
