Homan, Trump Officials Rip L.A. Mayor’s Response To Attacks On ICE Agents
Senior officials from President Donald J. Trump’s administration responded forcefully Friday to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who publicly vowed to obstruct lawful federal immigration enforcement — even as violence erupted across the city during targeted raids to apprehend criminal illegal aliens.
Mayor Bass, whose city is overwhelmed by homelessness, crime, and unchecked illegal immigration, lashed out on social media after federal agents conducted enforcement actions at multiple locations.
“This morning, we received reports of federal immigration enforcement actions in multiple locations in Los Angeles. As Mayor of a proud city of immigrants, who contribute to our city in so many ways, I am deeply angered by what has taken place,” Bass wrote, refusing to distinguish between lawful immigrants and illegal aliens.

The backlash from Trump officials was swift.
“You have no say in this at all,” declared Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. “Federal law is supreme and federal law will be enforced,” he asserted on X, rejecting the notion that local leaders can override national immigration law.
Tom Homan, President Trump’s immigration czar, told Fox News that law enforcement is “stepping up” and “mobilizing” in response to growing threats and obstruction by radical activists.
“American people, this is about enforcing the law, and again, we’re not going to apologize for doing it,” Homan stated during The Big Weekend Show.
Sebastian Gorka, a senior White House adviser, offered a blunt assessment: “They’re Illegals. Not ‘immigrants.’ One just tried to burn Americans alive in Boulder,” he wrote, referencing Mohamed Soliman, a recent terror suspect. Gorka warned those aiding and abetting illegal aliens: “If you’re aiding and abetting them you’re a criminal too… Are you ready to be treated as a criminal? Because we are ready to treat you as one if you commit a crime.”
Harmeet Dhillon, a Justice Department official, expressed disbelief over Bass’s blatant disregard for the Constitution.
“It’s amazing the number of elected officials who don’t grasp the basics of federalism, or federal sovereignty over immigration issues, or the First Amendment,” Dhillon posted.
The raids — lawful operations executed with judicial warrants — sparked violent demonstrations at several sites across Los Angeles. In one instance, a high-ranking union boss was arrested.
“Federal agents were executing a lawful judicial warrant at a LA worksite this morning when David Huerta deliberately obstructed their access by blocking their vehicle,” said U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli. “He was arrested for interfering with federal officers and will face arraignment in federal court on Monday.”
“Let me be clear: I don’t care who you are — if you impede federal agents, you will be arrested and prosecuted,” Essayli added.
Huerta, head of the California branch of the powerful SEIU labor union, is now facing federal charges.
Meanwhile, DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin blasted the city’s leadership for enabling chaos.
“Assaulting ICE enforcement officers, slashing tires, defacing buildings. 800 protestors have surrounded and breached the first layer of a federal law enforcement building in LA,” she wrote on X. “@LAPD has not responded. This violence against @ICEgov must stop.”
Former acting DNI and Trump envoy Richard Grenell placed responsibility directly at the feet of Mayor Bass.

While the Left continues to blur the line between immigrants and illegal aliens, the Trump administration is making clear: lawlessness will not be tolerated.
