Marjorie Taylor Greene Floating BIG Change To Her Political Future

Although Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) hasn’t formally entered the race, speculation is growing that she may launch a Senate campaign in 2026. According to two individuals familiar with her considerations, the outspoken Georgia Republican is giving serious thought to a bid—especially if Governor Brian Kemp chooses not to run.

Greene, widely recognized as one of President Donald Trump’s staunchest allies in the House, is said to be thoroughly exploring the possibility. A source who spoke to the Daily Caller under condition of anonymity shared that Kemp believes she would “crush” the GOP primary if he decides to stay out, reflecting ongoing internal deliberations.

Her team appears confident that Greene’s loyal base and alignment with Trump’s agenda would give her a notable advantage in what could be a fiercely contested Republican primary. While Kemp would likely be a frontrunner if he entered, his current position as a term-limited governor means he cannot seek reelection, opening the door to a crowded race.

The 2026 Georgia Senate race is already drawing national attention, with both parties eyeing the contest in a state that has become a pivotal battleground. On the Democratic side, preparations are already underway.

Among Republicans, Attorney General Chris Carr, who officially announced his candidacy in November 2024, currently stands out. His platform emphasizes defending constitutional freedoms, enhancing public safety, and driving job creation.

Should Senator Jon Ossoff opt to pursue another Senate term, Kemp is still widely regarded within GOP circles as the strongest potential challenger. Despite Kemp’s current indecision, a Republican insider told the Daily Caller the primary field remains “frozen” until he reveals his plans.

Another source, who also requested anonymity, indicated that Kemp is expected to clarify his position before Memorial Day. If Kemp steps aside, Greene is viewed as a significant potential disruptor in the race.

“I think if she got in tomorrow, she’d raise millions of dollars online in the first week,” remarked a source with insight into Georgia’s political landscape. “If I was one of the other members of Congress that was looking at the race, I would not be fired up about running against her.”

Thanks to her rising influence in the MAGA movement and close association with Trump, Greene is poised to be a formidable contender. Though a Trump endorsement isn’t guaranteed, a political insider noted that “it would be extremely unlikely that the president would endorse a candidate facing Greene.”

On the Democratic side, the primary is expected to be far less combative. A source predicted that Ossoff would “cruise to the nomination” and enter the general election well-funded, while “whoever is in the runoff is beating the hell out of each other and going into debt,” referring to the Republican contenders.
