Musk Deletes X Post Accusing Trump Of Being In ‘Epstein Files’
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk may be walking back from a very public clash with President Donald J. Trump after deleting a controversial post that sparked outrage and skepticism across the political spectrum.
Earlier this week, Musk made waves by implying that President Trump was connected to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. In a now-deleted post on X, Musk declared:
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

Legal and political figures immediately jumped to Trump’s defense, casting doubt on the bizarre accusation. Attorney David Schoen, who represented Epstein in the days leading up to his death in federal custody in 2019, flatly refuted Musk’s claim.
“I was hired to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer 9 days before he died. He sought my advice for months before that. I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitively that he had no information to hurt President Trump. I specifically asked him!” Schoen wrote on X.

Even longtime Trump critic and former attorney Michael Cohen dismissed the accusation as baseless.
“I have extensive knowledge of Trump being by his side for almost a decade and a half,” Cohen said during a Friday interview with MSNBC. “I’m telling you it’s nonsense. To the best of my knowledge and everything that I know, it’s not true.”

Musk’s post came at a politically sensitive moment, as pressure continues to mount for full transparency on the Epstein case. Last month, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed that the FBI is sifting through massive amounts of disturbing evidence related to Epstein’s crimes.
“The FBI is diligently going through that,” Bondi said, referring to “tens of thousands of videos of [Jeffrey] Epstein with children or child porn” and “hundreds of victims.” She confirmed that the sheer volume of material has delayed the release of the full files.
President Trump, who made a campaign promise to unseal the Epstein records, has continued pushing for accountability in the face of deep state stonewalling. His administration's renewed efforts are bolstered by congressional leaders seeking transparency and justice.
Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Oversight Committee and a key member of the Declassification Task Force led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), warned last month that critical Epstein-related evidence might have been buried before President Trump resumed office in January 2025.

With renewed scrutiny on the Epstein files and mounting evidence of corruption and obstruction under the previous administration, the American people are demanding answers—and President Trump appears determined to deliver.
