Newsom Staffers Investigated for Threatening Assistant AG Harmeet Dhillon, She Dares 'Woke Idiots' to Keep it Up

There’s an old saying that goes, “If you can’t beat them, join them.” But when it comes to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, it seems the Democrat has decided instead to copy them — specifically, President Donald J. Trump’s fiery, combative communication style.

Newsom, whose 2028 presidential ambitions are among Washington’s worst-kept secrets, has recently adopted a snark-filled tone on X (formerly Twitter), mimicking President Trump’s punchy, no-nonsense rhetoric — albeit with a predictable anti-MAGA spin.

But his imitation may have gone too far.

According to Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, Newsom’s staff crossed a serious line. Speaking with Fox News, Dhillon revealed that the Justice Department had alerted her to several threatening and disparaging replies posted under a Newsom staffer’s account.

The alarming posts appeared to blame Dhillon for a fire at a South Carolina judge’s home — a claim both false and reckless. Screenshots reviewed by Fox News showed that a since-deleted X account posted:

“I’m just saying Harmeet Dhillon’s address can’t be hard to find.”

Another disturbing reply added,

“I’ll let you in two weeks.”

Dhillon — a respected conservative attorney once considered for RNC chair — wasted no time responding publicly.

“Threats against me are referred to the US Marshals,” she wrote on X. “There have been several tonight. We will tolerate no such threats by woke idiots, including those who work for [Gavin Newsom]. Govern yourselves accordingly.”

She ended her post with a clear warning that quickly went viral:

“F*** around and find out.”

According to Fox News, the threatening posts came from Izzy Gardon, Newsom’s communications director. Rather than expressing remorse, Gardon demanded an apology from Dhillon.

“Ms. Dhillon owes us a full apology for her blatantly false implications,” Gardon said in a statement.

He went even further, attempting to deflect attention from his office by invoking the Trump administration:

“Our office never threatened her, in contrast to the Trump Administration’s vile rhetoric against sitting judges. In recent weeks, Trump officials have referred to judges as ‘terrorists’ and ‘legal insurrectionists.’ She and her associates own that dangerous, disgraceful, and un-American rhetoric, and she should apologize for that, too.”

Dhillon, however, made it abundantly clear she wasn’t backing down.

“Don’t hold your breath, bro — I said nothing requiring an apology,” she fired back. “Your staff are the ones putting targets on federal officials.”

The incident underscores a growing pattern among Democrats like Newsom, who appear eager to borrow President Trump’s brash tone without understanding the responsibility that comes with a platform of power. For many conservatives, it’s yet another example of the Left’s hypocrisy — where threats and hostility are excused when directed at those who dare challenge the progressive narrative.
