President Trump Slams Newsom, Signals Support for Arrest Over Anti-ICE Chaos in California

President Donald J. Trump didn't hold back Monday when addressing the escalating lawlessness in California, sparked by anti-ICE riots and fueled by radical leftist agitators. The President delivered a fiery rebuke of Governor Gavin Newsom, calling the Democrat “grossly incompetent” and suggesting that White House Border Czar Tom Homan should consider arresting him.

The moment came outside the White House when Fox News' Peter Doocy asked the President about a provocative dare issued by Newsom, who challenged federal authorities over their immigration enforcement actions in Los Angeles.

“Gavin Newsom is — he’s daring Tom Homan to come and arrest him. Should he do it?” Doocy asked.
“I would do it if I were Tom. I think it’s great,” President Trump replied. “Gavin likes the publicity. I like Gavin Newsom. He is a nice guy, but he’s grossly incompetent. Everybody knows [that]. All you have to do is look at the little railroad he is building. It’s about 100 times over budget.”

The President didn’t stop there. He condemned the anti-ICE demonstrators, who have been caught on video verbally abusing and even spitting on law enforcement officers.

“The people that are causing the problem are professional agitators. They’re insurrectionists. They’re bad people. They should be in jail,” Trump stated firmly.

This bold stance follows a weekend of left-wing chaos in Los Angeles, where so-called “protesters” assaulted federal agents and vandalized property following ICE-led workplace raids. Despite the violent outbreaks, Gov. Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass remained notably silent, refusing to take action to restore order.

President Trump responded swiftly, authorizing the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to stabilize the city. Speaking in New Jersey before boarding Air Force One with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump signaled even tougher action could be on the way, including possible use of the Insurrection Act.

Meanwhile, a new intelligence report links several far-left activist networks to Sunday’s violence in Los Angeles. These same groups have openly advocated for abolishing ICE and defying federal immigration laws.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris, who failed in her 2020 bid against Trump, issued a tone-deaf statement from D.C., condemning the National Guard deployment.

“Deploying the National Guard is a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos,” Harris claimed.

“It is part of the Trump Administration’s cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division,” she continued, calling the demonstrators “mostly peaceful” — despite video evidence of ICE vehicles being torched, agents being injured, and entire blocks of downtown Los Angeles being looted and burned.

The Biden-era rhetoric of “mostly peaceful protests” is back — and it’s just as dishonest as ever.

President Trump, committed to law and order, has now federalized the California National Guard, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has placed an additional 500 U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton on standby.

More protests — or riots — are expected this week across the Golden State, especially if local Democrat officials continue to stand down while radicals run wild.
