Renee Good’s Spouse Could Be Prosecuted: Legal Analyst
Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett said Monday that the spouse of Renee Good could face potential criminal exposure stemming from the Jan. 7 confrontation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Minneapolis that ended with Good’s death.
Appearing on Fox & Friends, Jarrett suggested that Rebecca Good may have committed crimes such as aiding and abetting if investigators determine she encouraged or assisted actions that obstructed federal law enforcement. He emphasized that any legal determination would depend heavily on motive and intent.
Jarrett told co-host Lawrence Jones that Rebecca Good may have engaged in “aiding and abetting fleeing police with a domestic terrorism motive.”
“It is true that [Renee Good] impeded the officers, and they have footage of her doing it the entire day,” Jones said. “But how do you link that to a broader push for domestic terrorism?”
Jarrett responded that the answer hinges on whether Rebecca Good’s actions were motivated by anti-government intent. He noted that while Renee Good cannot be prosecuted because she is deceased, her spouse’s conduct before the shooting could still be legally relevant.
The fatal encounter occurred during a federal ICE operation last week, when an ICE agent shot Renee Good after authorities say she posed an immediate threat during an attempted arrest. Federal officials have described the shooting as self-defense, and the incident remains under investigation.
Video footage of the encounter has circulated publicly, showing a heated standoff involving Good and her spouse near their vehicle. Jarrett focused on whether statements allegedly made by Rebecca Good moments before the vehicle moved could be interpreted as encouraging conduct that endangered officers.
He stressed that criminal liability would require investigators to establish intent and whether the behavior met the legal standard for aiding, abetting, or obstructing law enforcement.
“Was this done to be anti-government and to try to change the behavior of ICE? And if the answer is yes — and there’s considerable evidence that that was her motive; she was part of the resistance involved in trying to obstruct and block and hinder ICE — then sure, that’s domestic terrorism,” Jarrett said.

“It would be important if there was a prosecution here. But of course, the driver Renee Good is deceased.”
“Although, you know, you heard the videotape in which her wife was saying, ‘Drive, baby, drive.’ Well, that could be aiding and abetting fleeing police with a domestic terrorism motive,” he added. “So, you know, it still is relevant.”
According to Jarrett, the ICE agent involved was attempting to document Renee Good’s license plate number as her vehicle blocked a street during the operation.
In video footage published by Minnesota-based Alpha News from an ICE agent’s perspective, Rebecca Good can be heard taunting an officer.
“You want to come at us? You want to come at us?” Rebecca Good said. “I say go get yourself a big lunch, big boy. Go ahead.”

At this time, no charges have been filed against Rebecca Good, and law enforcement officials have not publicly identified her as a suspect. The Department of Justice and ICE have stated that the investigation is ongoing and have urged restraint while the review continues.
The case has drawn national attention amid ongoing debate over federal immigration enforcement under President Donald J. Trump’s second term. While federal authorities maintain the shooting was justified, critics and local officials continue to dispute aspects of the official account and cite video footage of the confrontation.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has characterized the actions surrounding the incident as coordinated misconduct.
“Domestic terrorism because it’s clear that it’s being coordinated,” Noem said.
