Trump Demands Jail Time for Adam Schiff Over Mortgage Allegations
President Donald J. Trump is calling for California Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff to be prosecuted and imprisoned after newly uncovered documents allege Schiff falsified mortgage records to obtain financial benefits on multiple home loans.
“Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff is in BIG TROUBLE!” Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social. “He falsified Loan Documents. He once said my son would go to prison on a SCAM that Schiff, along with other Crooked Dems, illegally ‘manufactured’ in order to stage an actual coup.”
“My son did nothing wrong, knew nothing about the fictional story,” Trump continued. “It was an American Tragedy! Now Shifty should pay the price of prison for a real crime, not one made up by the corrupt accusers!”

View PlansAccording to a Fox News report, the allegations stem from a letter sent in May by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to the Department of Justice. The agency accused Schiff of “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms,” potentially affecting mortgage payments from 2003 to 2019 on a home in Potomac, Maryland.
The FHFA, which regulates entities such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, flagged multiple instances of what its Financial Crimes Division called a “sustained pattern of possible occupancy misrepresentation.”
President Trump followed up with another post Tuesday, highlighting a Fannie Mae investigation that detailed Schiff's contradictory residency claims — a move that allowed the Democrat lawmaker to secure cheaper interest rates at the expense of taxpayers.
“Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA,” Trump stated.
“I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook. The FRAUD began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated as a second home on October 13, 2020.”
Schiff’s office refused to comment to Fox News Digital, but he previously attempted to dismiss the allegations, calling them politically motivated.
“Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason,” Schiff posted on X. “So in a way, I guess this is a bit of a letdown. And this baseless attempt at political retribution won’t stop me from holding him accountable. Not by a long shot.”
But as President Trump pointed out, Schiff was a lead architect of the now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion narrative — a hoax that the American people have come to see as a politically orchestrated smear campaign.
The Los Angeles Times, attempting to spin the development, claimed the FHFA memo did not explicitly accuse Schiff of a crime. However, it confirmed Schiff and his wife listed both their California and Maryland properties as “primary residences” during overlapping periods — a red flag in federal lending standards and a possible violation of mortgage terms.
When confronted on Capitol Hill this week, Schiff dodged questions and offered only: “Have a nice day.”
Later, in a YouTube video titled “Trump Just Threatened Me Directly. I’m Not Backing Down,” Schiff claimed the real scandal isn’t his own potential mortgage fraud — but Trump’s supposed attempt to retaliate for being held accountable.
“A president threatening prosecution or saying that his opponent should be jailed—this is the kind of stuff you see tin pot dictators do,” Schiff complained.
But just days after Trump’s post, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard appeared on Fox News to discuss a separate — and possibly related — scandal: her declassified documents showing overwhelming evidence that Barack Obama and top intel officials orchestrated the Trump-Russia collusion hoax from inside the White House.

View Plans“It lays out, these over 100 documents… exactly what happens when you have some of the most powerful people in our country directly leading at the helm… essentially making a very intentional decision to create this manufactured, politicized piece of intelligence with the objective of subverting the will of the American people,” Gabbard said.
As the revelations mount and criminal referrals loom, Schiff — who built his political career smearing Trump — may soon find himself on the other side of the justice system.
