Trump Forces Pro-Illegal Immigrant Groups to Humiliate Themselves Before Judge in Big Win

The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed the dismissal of a lawsuit promoted by pro-illegal immigration activists and backed by the ACLU, which falsely accused the agency of deporting a U.S. citizen. The suit revolved around a 2-year-old American child who was taken to Honduras alongside her mother, an illegal alien.

“This ACLU-backed lawsuit was based on the false claims that DHS deported a U.S. citizen,” stated Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a release over the weekend.

“The truth is, and has always been, that the mother—who was in the country illegally—chose to bring her 2-year-old with her to Honduras when she was removed. The narrative that DHS is deporting American children is false and irresponsible,” she emphasized.

DHS clarified in an official news statement that Jenny Carolina Lopez-Villela, the mother in question, made the decision to take her daughter with her during deportation proceedings. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) provides parents the option to either be deported with their children or place them with a guardian in the United States. According to DHS, Lopez-Villela opted to keep her child by her side.

This was not Lopez-Villela’s first offense. DHS records indicate she entered the country illegally on three separate occasions: in September 2019, March 2021, and again in August 2021. A final removal order had been issued against her in March 2020.

Her legal representative, Gracie Willis of the National Immigration Project, confirmed the case was voluntarily withdrawn.

“Given the traumatizing experiences the families have been through, they are taking a step back to have full discussions about all their options, the safety and well-being of their children, and the best ways to proceed so the harms they have suffered can be fully addressed,” Willis told ABC News.

“They are voluntarily dismissing this case to give themselves space and time to consider all the options that are available to them,” she added.

The legal retreat comes as the Trump administration continues to push back against misleading media narratives and politically charged litigation designed to undermine lawful immigration enforcement.

During a recent appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, Secretary of State Marco Rubio was grilled by Kristen Welker over a Washington Post article claiming the administration deported three U.S. citizen children.

“That’s a misleading headline,” Rubio responded firmly.

“Three U.S. citizens, ages 4, 7 and 2, were not deported. Their mothers, who are illegally in this country, were deported. The children went with their mothers. Those children are U.S. citizens. They can come back into the United States, if there’s their father or someone here who wants to assume them,” he explained.

Rubio continued, calling out the sensationalism in the media coverage: “You guys make it sound like ICE agents kicked down the door and grabbed the two-year-old and threw him on an airplane. That’s misleading. That’s just not true.”

Pressed further on the issue of due process, Rubio defended the administration’s actions.

“If someone’s in this country, unlawfully, illegally, that person gets deported,” he stated. “If that person is with a 2-year-old child or has a 2-year-old child, and says, ‘I want to take my child with me,’ well, now you have two choices. You can say, ‘Yes, of course you can take your child, whether they’re a citizen or not, because it’s your child,’ Or you can say, ‘Yes you can go, but your child must stay behind.’ And then your headlines would read, ‘U.S. holding hostage, 2-year-old, 4-year-old, 7-year-old while mother deported.’”

He concluded, “So the parents make that choice.”

While open-border advocates and leftist legal groups may fume, the reality is clear: under President Donald Trump, the United States is enforcing its immigration laws, respecting the rule of law, and prioritizing national security and public safety. The facts don’t support the hysteria—and the American people deserve the truth.
