Trump Signs Proclamation To Bolster America’s Military

In a powerful move to restore law and order amid escalating leftist violence, President Donald J. Trump has signed a sweeping new military directive aimed at protecting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and federal property from growing anti-government unrest.

The order, titled the “Department of Defense Security for the Protection of Department of Homeland Security Functions,” empowers the military to directly support immigration enforcement operations by deterring what Trump described as a “form of rebellion” against federal authority.

“Violent protests threaten the security of and significant damage to Federal immigration detention facilities and other Federal property,” Trump wrote in the order.
“To the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.”

Trump cited a pattern of “violence and disorder” from radical protesters opposing ICE enforcement, particularly following raids on employers hiring illegal migrants. In response, he authorized at least 2,000 National Guard troops to be placed under federal command for a period of 60 days, with flexibility to extend deployment as necessary.

Under the president’s directive:

  • The Secretary of Defense is authorized to coordinate with governors and activate additional National Guard units under 10 U.S.C. §12406.
  • Active-duty military personnel may be deployed to protect federal facilities, assist ICE, and deter further violence.
  • Troops are empowered to engage in “military protective activities” necessary to ensure federal safety.
  • Final authority over deployments rests with the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security.

This major escalation follows Trump’s weekend decision to deploy federal troops to Los Angeles in response to violent anti-ICE riots — where demonstrators spat on officers, vandalized ICE vehicles, and injured personnel. The riots were reportedly organized by well-funded far-left groups, several of which have ties to pro-illegal immigration nonprofits.

“If spitting on police officers and attacking ICE is your idea of protest, you’re not an activist — you’re a criminal,” Trump said while addressing reporters in New Jersey alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Sources close to the White House say the president is also weighing use of the Insurrection Act if state and local officials fail to uphold public safety — a clear rebuke to California’s Democratic leadership, including Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, both of whom refused to act as rioters overtook the streets.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris issued a statement criticizing the military deployment as “dangerous” — while failing to condemn the violent attacks on federal agents.

“This is about restoring order and defending our sovereignty,” said one senior administration official. “The president will not stand by while mobs try to dismantle immigration law and attack those who enforce it.”

With this bold new directive, President Trump has once again sent a clear message to America’s enemies — both foreign and domestic: The rule of law will be upheld.
