AG Bondi Drops Atom Bomb On Newsom About What’s Coming His Way

As Los Angeles descends into chaos over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportations, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a stern warning: federal law enforcement is coming, and the rule of law will be upheld—regardless of California’s political inaction.

During an appearance with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Bondi didn't hold back. “Look at it out there. It looks like a Third World country,” she said, describing the unruly streets of Los Angeles, where far-left protesters rioted over President Donald J. Trump’s immigration enforcement policies. “Yet it isn’t. It’s America, the United States. We will not tolerate it,” she added.

Bondi promised full federal prosecution for individuals attacking law enforcement during the protests, slamming California officials for abandoning their own police.

“We will defend the LAPD and the sheriff’s office out there if California won’t protect their law enforcement,” Bondi asserted.

According to Bondi, at least nine individuals have already been charged with federal crimes, with more arrests on the way for looting and violent attacks on officers. Charges include using Molotov cocktails, robbing businesses, and even spitting on federal agents—a vile act that will now bring serious legal consequences.

“We are going to enforce the law regardless of what they do... If they will not protect [law enforcement] and prosecute people that abuse the LAPD... we can prosecute federally people who assault state law enforcement officers,” she said, citing 18 U.S.C. § 231, which allows for up to five years in prison for such offenses.

Bondi went further, invoking the Hobbs Act, which allows federal prosecutors to charge violent looters with robbery—a felony carrying up to 20 years in prison.

“You loot a business in California? You’re looking at a maximum of 20 years. You spit on a federal officer? No more. As President Trump said: You spit, we hit.

She highlighted a particularly egregious case in which a protester, wearing a mask, hurled chunks of concrete at police vehicles, injuring a federal officer. Bondi praised the FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office for swiftly identifying the suspect and preparing a search warrant.

“To see his face—he’s going to be on the most wanted list,” she said. “You can run, you can’t hide. We are coming after you federally.”

President Trump, meanwhile, has weighed the use of the Insurrection Act to bring order to the Democrat-run state, which has refused to support ICE and law enforcement agencies. During a press interaction, Trump warned that spitting on police officers or harassing ICE agents will carry federal penalties—a marked shift from the lawless climate California politicians have allowed to fester.

The anti-ICE protests were reportedly coordinated by known leftist activist groups, resulting in multiple ICE agents being harassed and physically intimidated on the streets of Los Angeles.

With the Department of Justice prepared to strike hard against violent agitators and looters, it’s clear the Trump administration will not allow Democrat strongholds to devolve into anarchic war zones without consequences.
