Vanessa Trump Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis After Recent Procedure
Vanessa Trump revealed Wednesday night that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and recently underwent a medical procedure as she begins treatment.
The former wife of Donald Trump Jr. shared the personal update in an emotional Instagram post, choosing to speak directly to supporters about her health.
“I want to share a personal health update,” Vanessa wrote. “I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.”
“While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she added.
Vanessa also said she underwent a procedure earlier this week, though she did not provide additional details about the operation or the stage of her diagnosis.
Her message focused on faith, family, and recovery as she begins what is likely to be a difficult chapter.
“I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me,” she wrote.
The announcement quickly drew public support from members of the Trump family and followers across social media.
Ivanka Trump responded in the comments with a message of encouragement.
“Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama,” Ivanka wrote.
Tiffany Trump also appeared to show support by liking the post as well wishes poured in online.
Vanessa closed her message by thanking supporters while asking for space as she focuses on her health.
“Thank you for your kindness and support it truly means more than I can express,” she wrote.
“I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery.”
Vanessa Trump shares five children with Donald Trump Jr. While she was once a more visible public figure during her marriage into the Trump family, she has kept a far lower profile in recent years than many members of the extended family.
Her name returned to headlines earlier this year after she and golf legend Tiger Woods publicly confirmed their relationship. In March, Woods also asked the public for privacy as attention surrounding the relationship grew.
Vanessa’s health announcement did not include further medical details beyond confirming the diagnosis, the recent procedure, and her ongoing treatment planning, Fox News reported.
The post immediately sparked an outpouring of prayers and support from friends, followers, and those sympathetic to the Trump family, many of whom praised her strength and asked that her privacy be respected.
The news comes as Donald Trump Jr. has also faced renewed public attention over his future in politics.
Last year, Trump Jr. said he has no plans to run for office “anytime soon,” though he did not rule out a future political role.
Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum, he was asked whether he might consider entering politics once his father, President Donald J. Trump, eventually leaves office.
Trump Jr. left the door open, saying, “I don’t know. Maybe one day … that calling is there.”
Still, he emphasized that he is not interested in launching a 2028 presidential campaign, a cycle in which Vice President J.D. Vance is widely expected to be a leading figure for the GOP nomination.
“And FWIW, I’ve always said, while I’ll never 100% rule it out down the line, I have ZERO interest in running for office in 28 or anytime soon,” he said in a portion of an X post.
Fox News noted the historical rarity of a father and son both reaching the White House.
“There have been two father-son pairs in U.S. history who both served as president: George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, and John Adams and John Quincy Adams,” Fox News noted.
Months earlier, Trump Jr. quickly pushed back after a report claimed he was considering a 2028 presidential run to follow his term-limited father, President Trump.
Mediaite, citing unnamed sources, reported that Trump Jr. was actively considering a campaign for the GOP nomination after President Trump said it was “too early” to endorse Vice President Vance as his successor.
Many political observers had expected Vance to become the natural heir to the MAGA movement after President Trump leaves office, making the speculation around Trump Jr. a major topic inside conservative circles.
For now, however, the Trump family’s focus appears to be on Vanessa’s health, her children, and giving her the privacy she requested as she begins treatment.
