Watch: Trump Extends Olive Branch to Elon, But Makes It Clear the 'Good Relationship' Is Over
After weeks of public sparring, it appears the icy tension between President Donald J. Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk is beginning to thaw — but don’t expect the two to reunite their former alliance just yet.
During a press briefing on Monday, President Trump addressed multiple questions about Musk, offering a notably more tempered response than in previous weeks. The exchange, captured by a prominent commentator and posted on social media, gives a clear glimpse into the president’s current thinking.
When asked about the red Tesla seen at the White House and the continued presence of Starlink — both owned by Musk — Trump confirmed there were no plans to scrap either asset.

View Plans“It’s a good service,” the president said of Starlink. As for the car? Trump grinned, “I have a lot of locations. I got so many locations, I don’t know what to do with them all.”
The media, eager to stir controversy, pressed Trump on whether he had ever witnessed Musk get physical with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
“No, I didn’t,” Trump responded firmly, although he acknowledged, “He did have an argument.”
Then came the predictable left-wing smear question: Had Musk ever used drugs in the White House?
“I really don’t know,” Trump replied. “I don’t think so. I hope not.”
While many expected more fireworks, the president instead closed the subject with class and clarity: “Look, I wish him well. You understand, we had a good relationship, and I just wish him well — very well, actually.”
The shift in tone signals a cooling of tensions, at least on the surface. But the past friction between the two men can’t be ignored.
The falling out between Trump and Musk became public when the former head of the now-defunct Department of Government Efficiency turned against the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB) — a key legislative victory for the Trump administration. Musk voiced fiscal concerns, and his rhetoric escalated dramatically, even endorsing calls for impeachment.
In one now-deleted social media post, Musk went as far as to peddle a baseless claim tying President Trump to disgraced pedophile Jeffrey Epstein — a smear ripped straight from the left’s tired playbook.
But that was then.
Today, Musk appears to be realigning with Trump’s America First agenda, especially amid the Biden-era chaos still rippling through California.

He recently expressed his support for the administration’s strong response to the ongoing anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, re-sharing a powerful post from Vice President J.D. Vance:
People who were already violating the law are only violating the law because President Trump started enforcing the law.

This is the logic of Newsom and his stooges. https://t.co/LRnmxuCtu6
“People who were already violating the law are only violating the law because President Trump started enforcing the law,” Vance wrote. “This is the logic of [Democratic California Gov. Gavin] Newsom and his stooges.”
