‘What the F—?’: Democrat Governor Janet Mills Stunned by Public Confrontation Over Cocaine Allegations
Maine’s Democrat Governor Janet Mills was visibly shaken and speechless when confronted in public last week with a blunt question about her rumored drug use—a question that sparked an unfiltered and profane response from the state’s top executive.
The moment unfolded at the Sunday River Resort in Newry, where Mills, 76, was attending a public event and posing for photos. In footage captured and circulated online, an unidentified man approached the governor and asked:
“Is sniffing cocaine a human right, Janet?”
The governor’s response was immediate and vulgar:
“What the f*?”**

The man didn’t stop there. Without elaboration or explanation, he added:
“How much more does an eight-ball cost with inflation?”
Rather than engage, Mills turned and walked away without further comment. According to Fox News, her staff has remained silent on the incident.
While the question may have seemed random to casual observers, Maine Republicans have long raised concerns and questions over Mills’ rumored past involving drug use. In fact, the governor was investigated in 1990 by both state and federal authorities regarding alleged cocaine use. No charges were filed, and Mills has consistently denied the claims, dismissing them as politically motivated.
Still, the issue has never fully disappeared from the public conversation—especially among critics who cite her erratic tone and increasingly radical policies.
Mills has repeatedly clashed with President Donald Trump throughout her tenure, including a highly publicized standoff in 2020 over pandemic powers and another in 2025 regarding transgender athletes.
Earlier this year, Mills defiantly stated that she would ignore President Trump’s executive order banning biological males from competing in girls’ sports, triggering legal action from the administration.
“This is also about these young women’s personal safety,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi at the time. “The Department of Justice will not sit by when women are discriminated against in sports.”
President Trump had previously criticized Mills’ leadership during a visit to the state in 2020. “You have a Governor that doesn’t know what she’s doing, and she’s like a dictator,” he said, pointing to her refusal to reopen Maine’s commercial fishing industry amid pandemic restrictions.
Mills is now in her second term, but her tenure continues to be marked by controversy, defiance, and now—awkward public encounters caught on camera.
